Platform (this is a start): 1. Outlaw all private financing of political campaigns beyond a $100 donation limit. This includes money or other resources from any group, public or private. Further, donations or other income that has a nexus to the job duties of a member of Congress or any Executive Branch Officials exceeding $100 in value shall be prohibited. 2. Primaries will all be held over a 48 hour period in all states on the same date. 3. The US will enforce all laws against illegal immigration and illegal border crossings. Companies will be able to sponsor workers from other countries through a streamlined worker (visa) program. Companies must pay wages and benefits similar to that paid to citizens of the United States. No amnesty for existing illegal aliens. Existing illegal aliens must return to country of origin over a 3 year period until such time as a company will sponsor them or they can immigrate legally to the United States. Significant penalties for companies who continue to employ illegal workers or fail to report when sponsored workers no longer work for the company. Citizenship as a result of illegal entry into the United States will not be recognized. 4. Iraq: The US will phase out combat troops by September 30, 2008, if the Iraqi government does not take charge of its own security. This includes outlawing and eliminating militias. 5. The US will undertake a public funding effort as its top priority to fund and develop renewable energy programs. Priority and funding will be given to solar, wind, hydrogen, and hydroelectric power, and other sources as identified. The government will hold all patents that are developed through public funding and make the technology available to the public and private sector. Biodiesel and ethanol subsidies will be phased out. 6. The US will undertake a funding effort to anticipate and develop plans to adapt to Global Warming. The US will strive to Adapt Globally, Act Locally. Part of the effort shall be to assess and develop implementation plans with other countries to reduce or treat excess carbon. A significant effort will be focused on assessing existing and expected impacts based upon science. 7. No Bill or Constitutional Amendment will be sponsored at the state or National level that takes away rights of any legal citizen. The Constitution shall guarantee the rights of citizens. We have more important problems to solve. 8. No Treaty shall be signed and approved unless it is in the clear benefit of the United States. Any persons that enter the United States as a result of a Treaty or Agreement shall be required to comply with all of the laws of the United States expected of any legal citizen. 9. A Constitutional Amendment shall be introduced to make it possible for the citizens of a states to recall a member of the House or Senate. It shall no longer be accepted that the US House and Senate are self-regulating. 10. The President and Congress shall accept a 5% pay cut per year that a balanced budget is not achieved. There shall be no amendments added to bills before Congress that commit the spending of tax dollars unrelated to the original bill. Stop the pork. 11. Congress shall charge the Science Advisory Board and Centers for Disease Control, in consultation with the World Health Organization, to immediately implement competent plans in case of a pandemic or other worldwide health threat. This includes a worst-case avian flu outbreak. 12. The United States funding of basic infrastructure (manufacturing, water, water source protection, sanitation, roads, police and fire) shall take preference in spending of tax dollars unless a deficit does not exist. Where the government has excess tax dollars in any given year, at least 50% of the excess tax dollars shall be spent to paying down the debt. 13. No private corporation shall get a tax break for moving manufacturing off-shore. 14. The government shall not infringe on the rights of private US citizens without severe penalties. 15. The government shall institute a flat tax on all purchases (excluding food, medicine, heating oil, electricity, primary residence) for individuals. The Federal income tax for individuals shall be eliminated. The capital gains tax shall be cut by 50%. Individuals making over $200,000 and couples making over $400,000 per year shall pay a higher Medicare tax. To be continued.......
